On 22 November 2006 the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate, to which jurisdiction most of Carpatho-Russia belongs, glorified All the Saints of Carpatho-Russia. Many of these saints are martyrs who perished after they had returned from Uniatism to Orthodoxy during the Austro-Hungarian occupation at the beginning of the twentieth century.
The new Feast of All the Saints of Carpatho-Russia will be celebrated on the first Sunday after the Feast of the Apostles of the Slavs, Sts Cyril and Methodius, which falls on 24 May.
