Patronal Feast of St John The Wonderworker, Felixstowe 17/30 June 2007

A busload of 'pilgrims' accompanied Bishop Elisey of Bogorodsk, and Deacon Dimitri from the Moscow Patriarchal Cathedral in London, so the church was full and the service was wonderful with one of the visitors complimenting the choir by telling them they sang like angels (primarily English with some Slavonic).

Fr Andrew preached on St John the Wonderworker after the Gospel and Bishop Elisey spoke at the completion of the service before presenting Fr Andrew and the church with an icon. After the Liturgy a Moleben and akathist were served and then Many Years were sung.

A feast followed - the visitors had kindly brought salads and fruit to assist Matushka and the sisterhood with the meal. Afterwards there was a question and answer time before a DVD was shown that traced the story of the Russian Church Outside Russia from the departure under Patriarch Tikhon until the last Synod meeting.
